STEP 10 - COOL DOWN SUPPORT

After a great workout, it is important to cool your body down. To bring your heart rate back to a calmer state—around 100 to 120 beats per minute—as well as reducing breathing rates and gradually cooling your body temperature.

It is also vital to return your muscles to their optimal length-tension relationships, prevent blood from pooling in your extremities, and bring your body back to a state of rest.

When you don’t achieve these goals, you can injure your muscles, feel dizzy or faint, and your blood pressure could drop too rapidly.

Some health professionals believe that a cool down will lower the lactic acid build up that occurs in your muscles as you exercise, causing them to feel stiff and sore.

Some great ways to cool down are:

  • Walking

  • Stretching

  • Slow laps around a pool

  • Light Yoga

This is a prime time to REHYDRATE your body.

Applying any of the following Essential Oils to the back of your neck can promote a lower body temperature:

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
